ForgeScan — Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 29, 2026
ForgeScan ("the app") is published for the United States market by Gasbi Tech. This policy describes what information the app accesses, how that information is handled, and the rights available to you.
Overview
- ForgeScan does not collect, transmit, or store any user data.
- All functionality — scanning, document processing, code generation, and label creation — is performed entirely on your device using on-device image processing. No cloud services and no machine-learning (AI) services are used.
- The app contains no account system, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party software development kits.
- The app makes no network connections to the developer. The developer operates no servers.
What the app accesses on your device, and why
| Access | Why | Where the data goes |
|---|---|---|
| Camera | Scanning barcodes/QR codes, scanning documents and ID cards | Processed on-device; images exist only in the app while you work with them |
| Photo library (add-only or picker) | Saving codes/scans you export; choosing a photo or logo you pick | Saving uses the system "add" permission; picking uses Apple's picker, which shows the app only the photos you select |
| Contacts (picker) | The optional "Fill from My Contacts" button in the QR contact card maker | Apple's contact picker runs outside the app; the app receives only the single contact you pick, only to fill the form you're looking at |
| Files (picker) | Importing CSV files; exporting PDFs to folders you choose | Only the files you explicitly pick or save |
The app does not access your photo library, contacts, or files in the background, and requests no permissions that would allow it to do so.
What stays on your phone
The following is stored only in the app's local storage on your device, and is deleted when you delete the app (or earlier, using the in-app Clear buttons):
- Scan history (the codes you've scanned) — you can disable saving entirely, limit retention, or clear it in Settings.
- Saved contact cards and their revision history (data you typed to make your own QR codes).
- Your preferences (paper size, filters, calibration offsets, etc.).
Documents, ID scans, and label PDFs are created on your device and exist only where you choose to save or share them. Exercise caution when sharing scans of identity documents: once a file is shared, its protection depends on the recipient and the service used to share it.
Purchases
ForgeScan Pro is an optional one-time purchase processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. The developer does not receive your name, payment details, or Apple ID. Purchase status is verified locally on the device through Apple's StoreKit framework. Apple's handling of that transaction is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Codes you create
QR codes and barcodes generated by ForgeScan are static images. They encode only the content you enter, do not route through any server operated by the developer, and cannot be disabled, tracked, or expired by the developer. When another person scans a code you created, neither the app nor the developer receives any information about that scan.
Your U.S. state privacy rights (California CCPA/CPRA and similar laws)
Laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), the Virginia CDPA, and similar state statutes give consumers rights over personal information a business collects — access, deletion, correction, and opting out of "sale" or "sharing."
ForgeScan collects no personal information, so there is no personal information for the developer to disclose, sell, share, delete, or correct:
- Categories of personal information collected: none.
- Personal information sold or shared (as defined by the CCPA): none. No user data reaches the developer, and none is sold or shared.
- Retention: none by the developer. Data you create remains on your device under your control.
- "Do Not Track" / Global Privacy Control: the app makes no network connections to the developer and embeds no trackers; these signals therefore have no data practices to affect.
To exercise a state privacy right, contact the address below; requests are honored as applicable law requires.
Children (COPPA)
ForgeScan is not directed to children under 13 and, consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), collects no personal information from anyone — including children. The app contains no ads, no in-app browser destinations of our own, and no social features.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of the app changes any practice described above (for example, by adding an optional online feature), this policy will be updated with a new effective date before that version is released, and the change will be noted in the app's release notes. The current version of the app collects and transmits nothing.
