ForgeScan — Terms of Use (End User License Agreement)
Effective date: July 29, 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the ForgeScan iOS application ("the app"), published by Gasbi Tech ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the app you agree to these Terms. If you obtained the app through Apple's App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies; where the two conflict, the stricter protection for you applies.
1. License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the app on Apple devices you own or control, for personal or internal business use, subject to the App Store terms. You may not reverse-engineer, redistribute, resell, or sublicense the app itself. All output you create with the app (scans, PDFs, labels, QR codes, and barcodes) belongs to you, including for commercial use.
2. ForgeScan Pro (one-time purchase)
- ForgeScan Pro is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase. It is not a subscription; there are no recurring charges. Once purchased, Pro features remain unlocked for your Apple ID and can be restored on your devices via "Restore Purchase."
- Payment is processed by Apple. Refunds are handled exclusively by Apple under App Store policy (request at reportaproblem.apple.com); we cannot issue or deny App Store refunds ourselves.
- Free-tier limits (such as labels per export and a footer mark) are described in the app and may be adjusted in future versions, but features you have paid for will not be taken away.
3. Your responsibilities when using generated codes and labels
The app is a general-purpose tool; the content you encode and print is your responsibility. In particular:
- 1. Barcode number licensing. The app renders any UPC-A/EAN-13 number you enter into a scannable barcode, but it does not grant you the right to use that number. GS1-licensed GTINs, Amazon FNSKUs, and similar identifiers must be validly obtained by you from the relevant organization. Encoding numbers you are not entitled to use may violate third-party rights or marketplace rules.
- 2. Marketplace and regulatory compliance. Requirements of Amazon (e.g., FNSKU label rules), other marketplaces, retailers, customs, or product-labeling laws (ingredients, warnings, expiration formats) are yours to verify. The app's presets are conveniences, not compliance guarantees.
- 3. Test before mass printing. Scannability depends on your printer, materials, sizes, and settings. Always print and scan a test label before producing large batches. We are not responsible for the cost of misprinted media.
- 4. Content. Do not use the app to encode or distribute content that is unlawful, deceptive (e.g., QR codes leading to fraudulent destinations), or infringing.
- 5. Identity documents. The document/ID scanner is for lawful purposes such as copying your own documents. Scanning other people's documents requires their consent and compliance with applicable law. You are responsible for safeguarding any scans you create and share.
4. What the app does not do
- The app runs entirely on your device and requires no account. The developer operates no servers; generated codes are static and cannot be disabled or expired by the developer.
- Nothing in the app constitutes legal, regulatory, or compliance advice.
5. Disclaimer of warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES AND CONDITIONS, EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, SATISFACTORY QUALITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, QUIET ENJOYMENT, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that scanning will succeed on every code or document, that generated codes will scan on every reader or printer, or that the app will be error-free or uninterrupted. Some states do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so the above exclusion may not apply to you; in that case any implied warranty is limited to the shortest duration permitted by law.
6. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, WASTED PRINTING MEDIA, MARKETPLACE PENALTIES OR FEES, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE APP, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS ($50) OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, WHICHEVER IS GREATER. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation may not apply to you.
7. Trademarks
QR Code® is a registered trademark of DENSO WAVE INCORPORATED. Avery® and referenced label product numbers, Amazon, FNSKU, Shopify, Square, Etsy, NIIMBOT, Phomemo, Rollo, Zebra, Brother, Dymo, and other names referenced in the app or its documentation are trademarks of their respective owners, used solely to identify compatibility (nominative use). The app and its developer are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any of them. Template dimension references are to publicly documented, functional label geometries.
8. Assignment
We may assign or transfer these Terms and our rights and obligations under them — for example to a company or LLC we form, an affiliate, or a successor in a sale of the app — without notice to you; your license and any purchases remain valid after such a transfer. You may not assign these Terms except by transferring your Apple ID pursuant to Apple's terms.
9. Changes to the app and these Terms
We may update the app and these Terms. Material changes will be reflected by a new effective date and noted in update notes. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, stop using the app and delete it.
10. Termination
The license ends automatically if you materially breach these Terms. You may end it at any time by deleting the app. Sections 3, 5, 6, 8, 11, and 12 survive termination.
11. U.S. legal provisions
- Export compliance. You may not use or export the app except as authorized by United States law. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as "terrorist supporting," and are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- U.S. Government end users. The app is "commercial computer software" as defined in 48 C.F.R. §2.101. Government end users acquire it with only those rights granted to all other end users under these Terms.
- California notice. Under California Civil Code §1789.3, California users may contact the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N 112, Sacramento, CA 95834, or (800) 952-5210.
12. Dispute resolution and governing law
Before filing any claim, you agree to first contact us at the email below and give us 30 days to resolve the issue informally. Either party may bring qualifying claims in small claims court. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, USA, and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules; venue for any dispute lies in the state or federal courts of Minnesota, except where the mandatory consumer-protection law of your state of residence provides otherwise. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms with respect to the App Store EULA and may enforce them.
